The old surface is still evidence.

An archived URL is a record that a page, an environment or a login screen existed. Group captures by folder, filter to one host, and inspect what the Wayback Machine kept.

What this gives you

  • Wayback CDX index read on demand
  • Folders grouped with capture counts and newest year
  • Filter the archive to any hostname in the scan
  • Original URLs open in a new tab

From hostname to the pages it served

The Subdomains tab tells you which host exists. The Paths tab tells you what the archive remembers about it, without treating an old capture as proof of a live service.

CDX query

One request per apex or selected host. The response is parsed into URL, capture year and folder.

Folder groups

Captures are grouped by the first path segment so a careers tree or a docs tree reads as one unit.

Host filter

Choose any hostname from the scan and the path list narrows to its captures. The host is carried in the share URL.

  1. 01

    Open the Paths tab

The archive is fetched only when you ask for it, not during the subdomain scan.

  2. 02

Pick a host or the apex

All hosts are available, including ones added by a deep scan.

  3. 03

    Read the folders

Capture counts and years are shown per folder; each original URL opens separately.

An archive capture shows what was crawled, not what is live today. Treat it as historical context, and confirm a host before drawing conclusions about its current state.

Why archived paths are useful

Forgotten environments

Old staging pages often expose the shape of a system that still exists.

Migration evidence

Compare what the archive kept with the hostnames that remain in certificates.

Report context

Pair a current hostname with a dated capture instead of a bare assertion.
